Bali is blessed with beautiful nature, and the verdant landscape around Ubud is what has made the town famous. The landscape around Ubud is characterized first and foremost by this lushness: plenty of rainfall ensures that rivers are full, gorges are ravishingly beautiful, the jungle is bountiful and the rice fields are a searing shade of green that’s candy for the eyes, year-round. The soil is very fertile here and allows for many species of plant to grow, and it’s a joy to see the food that you eat growing all around you.

The relative distance to any beaches may put some visitors off a trip to Ubud, but the resplendent nature more than makes up for it. Especially beautiful are the silhouettes of the volcanoes beyond the rice fields, most visible on a clear day.
