If you’ve pre-ordered a driver or arranged an airport pick-up through your hotel, your driver will be waiting at the exit holding a sign bearing your name. Alternatively, there are taxi drivers waiting at all hours of day or night. They’ll normally charge a minimum of 250,000 for a one-way ride up to Ubud.

The journey will take anything between 60-120 minutes, depending on the time of day and the amount of traffic on the road. A new toll road opened in October 2013 that has alleviated the worst of the traffic jams and improved the speed of the journey. However, it’s best to arrive in the early morning or late at night, if you can, in order to travel on the roads without delay.
