The Development Bank of Singapore (DBS) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) Entrepreneurship Centre are searching Asia for the best social entrepreneurs and ideas. In partnership with Hubud: Ubud Co-working and Community Space in Ubud, Bali and Annika Linden Centre in Jakarta, the Social Venture Challenge (http://socialventurechallenge.asia/) is open to any Indonesian-based innovators who have a sustainable idea that could potentially tackle challenging social problems in their community and region.
Participants with the winning idea from Bali or beyond will be flown in to Singapore for the semi-final round, to be paired with a mentor during the venture challenge boot-camp in March, and will have the opportunity to win a funding support up to SGD55,000 (including SGD 30,000 to the grand prize winner).
To help the participants from Bali or beyond with refining their ideas and submit quality applications, Hubud will host an official Application Prep Workshop in Bali on January 18, 2014 (Jakarta Application Prep Workshop will be hosted by Annika Linden Centre on the same day).
The FREE ideation workshop will go over important information about award funding and training, the award timeline and deadlines, how finalists will be selected and judges’ criteria. An experienced team of Indonesian and international facilitators will be on hand to support the participants’ ideas and applications for the competition.
Hubud is now looking for potential participants with big superhero ideas from Bali and beyond to join this challenge. To reserve your place for the ideation workshop, simply email us with brief information about your concept/idea and your team/organization detail to: firstname.lastname@example.org before January 15, 2014.
